Flux of flood peak at Ningxia marks highest level since 1989

Staff members of a hydrologic station measure the flux of water in the Yellow River in Zhongwei City, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, July 31, 2012. Due to recent torrential rains, water levels rose quickly on both the trunk stream and tributaries of the Yellow River's middle reaches, the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters said. The flux of a flood peak at the Hydrologic Station in Zhongwei City of Ningxia reached 2570 cubic meters per second at 7 p.m. on July 31, 2012, marking the highest level since 1989 at Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
