The Military Naval Engineering Command Underwater Demolition Team received numerous merit awards, and in 2002 was awarded the honorary title of "underwater demolition vanguard" by the navy and "national support for the government and model unit" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the General Political Department. The team was also recognized as a “frontier command post” by the military.
