A pottery jar was excavated from an archaeological site in Wuqing District, Tianjin, on Tuesday. The jar was buried in the tomb of a couple, and is dated back to the Northern Dynasties (A.D. 386 - 581). The State Administration of Cultural Heritage approved the excavation of a total of 10 ancient tombs as well as about 100 cultural relics. The tombs are about 800 years old -- a time frame that covers the periods of the Western Han Dynasty (B.C. 202 - A.D.9), the Eastern Han Dynasty (A.D. 25 - 220), and the Northern Dynasties (A.D. 386 - 581).
