Yesterday made it officially the hottest July in Shanghai's recorded history after the high reached 39.4 degrees Celsius, the 24th high temperature day this month. Making the best out of a hot situation, Shanghai locals including netizens and news reporters posted "outdoor barbecue" photos online, showing how different foods, from sliced pork to shrimp to eggs, are quickly cooked under sizzling heat on the street or on a balcony. It's reported the mercury is likely to stay around 39 degrees today and in the coming days. [Photo: CNS / Yuan Jing]
