A captive-bred giant panda named Zhang Xiang is just beginning a new life in the wild. Her new home is a Nature reserve in Ya'an city in Southwest China's Sichuan province. Staff members have been wearing specially-made panda suits to interact with giant panda Zhang Xiang before she was released into the wild. The special giant panda suits are essential to create an illusion for Zhang Xiang to accept the approaching staff as adult giant pandas. Zhang Xiang has been trained to build a den and mark her territory. The cub also developed skills such as recognizing potential enemies, hunting for food and climbing trees. She also wears a "necklace" with Global Positioning System. It will help staff to monitor and assess the giant panda's living conditions. [Photo/CNS]
