During the Huaihai Campaign, PLA soldiers open fire at troops led by Huang Wei (a vice admiral of the Kuomintang). The Huaihai Campaign (Nov. 6, 1948 to Jan. 10. 1949), one of the three crucial Campaigns (the other two are the Liaoshen Campaign and Pingjin Campaign) liberated Central China and the Central Plains.
