Japan launches the Tsubame express train in northeast China in 1935. The Tsubame became the original model of the post-WWII Shinkansen, whose success showed that Japan could actually take off and develop without invading others. But Japan failed to realize this before the death of millions of its own soldiers, among greater losses in its neighbors. [Photo/Sina]
