After his return to Japan, Hiroo Onoda finds he has trouble sleeping at night. Even the noise from everyday household electric appliances, televisions and jet planes would scare him. In April 1975, he bought a farm in a forest of Brazil and settled down there. In 1984, he returned to Japan and opened up a private school to teach children survival skills in the wild.
