'Tough sister' walks to work on her knees

Editor's note: Hu Fenglian was amicably dubbed "tough sister" when pictures of her circulated online recently. The 50-year-old woman lost both her lower legs when she was 6 months old and can only walk on her knees. Now she does odd jobs at a factory in Longsheng County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

 

Hu shops for an electric pressure cooker on Jan. 22. The small appliance cost her several months' savings. With the cooker, she can cook meals and eat with her co-workers, Hu said. [Photo/CFP]
