Editor’s note: Sanlitun, located in Beijing’s eastern Chaoyang District, is a fashion center for shopping, food and arts. Hundreds of young fashionable men and women, most of whom are from China’s middle class, go there every day, sporting stylish clothes and hairstyles to stand out and display their own fashion sense rather than blend in with the crowd. They are the frontrunners of the fashion evolution in China and even world fashion. An amateur photographer, surnamed Liu, said that dozens of photographers come to Sanlitun over the weekend to capture photos of fashionable girls. They often post those photos on social media platforms like Sina Weibo, China’s twitter-like microblog, and Wechat, a social messaging app.

Let’s enjoy a visual feast of the most fashionable girls that caught the eyes of passers-by and street photographers.
