The Gaoshan ruin was discovered in 2003 and began to be explored in 2012. It covers an area of nearly 2 million square meters. As of 2015, about 800 square meters had been excavated, yielding 89 tombs, one human sacrifice pit, 86 other pits and 12 trenches.
