Football fans around the world who proclaim their loyalty to their beloved club or national team by wearing distinctive scarves may not be aware that China is now the main supplier of these special products with high quality and reliable credibility.

Football scarves are one of the most essential parts of the uniform worn by fanatical fans around the world, and have long represented a kind of football culture to express the feelings of fans, their enthusiasm and the romance and energy of standing on the terraces and screaming themselves hoarse.

Today, China has become the main supplier of such scarves with high quality and reliable credibility. A factory located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, for example, now manufactures scarves for many major football competitions around the world.

This factory alone provided more than 50 percent of the football scarves for the 2014 Brazil World Cup, and is the major supplier to the 2016 Copa América and the 2016 European Football Championship – starting in France on June 10 - as well as the China Super League, the English Premier League, the French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga, and Italy’s Serie A.

The production of a scarf usually goes through a process of more than 10 steps from start to finish, including winding yarn, weaving, cutting, embroidery, sewing, ironing, quality inspection and packaging.

All links in the production process must be carefully considered, but none is more important than the logo of the club or the national team that gives any scarf its special flavor at a match and inspires players to strive for victory to please their vociferous fans.

The year 2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Copa América, the main international football tournament for national teams in South America. To celebrate the event, the South American Football Association has decided that this year’s competition will be a special one. Teams will come from all the countries of the American continent, including the United States, designated as the host country.

The event has no doubt brought both opportunities and challenges for the football scarf manufacturer in China.
