Editor's note: This year's Ramadan started on June 6. During the Islamic holy month, Muslims abstain from eating and drinking between sunrise and dusk. Many Muslims from all over China gathered at Niujie Mosque, the largest and oldest mosque in Beijing on June 7, the second day of Ramadan. Staff members working at the mosque said that there were more Muslims coming during this month.
