Editor's note: A Jun porcelain vase symbolizing "peaceful coexistence" designed by Chinese master potter Kong Xiangqing specifically for the 13th China-ASEAN Expo has been transported to Nanning, capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, where the expo will be held from Sept. 11 to 14. Jun porcelain, originating in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220), is famous for the color change it undergoes during the kiln process. The porcelain vase exquisitely designed for the 13th China-ASEAN Expo was produced in the Kong Family Jun Kiln in Yuzhou, Henan Province, a town known as the "capital of Jun porcelain" in China. The figures on the porcelain vase have a special meaning: the elephants are a symbol of good luck and peace, the lotuses a symbol of harmony and friendship, and the 13 nails are a symbol of the 13 sessions of the expo.
