Editor's note: The Qinghai Art Museum formally opened to the public on Nov. 12, after three years of construction. Covering an area of 11,000 square meters and with an investment of nearly 100 million yuan (US$14.68 million), the museum has become one of the largest multi-functional cultural projects in northwest China's Qinghai Province. Located in Xining, capital city of the province, the museum highlights six main characteristics in its design and layout; namely, collection, cultural research, exhibitions, exchanges, education and service. With the completion of the project, it will play a proper role in developing local non-profit cultural programs, enriching people's cultural and artistic life, and providing a good place for art education and promotion.
