"Later, the script was published by Zhaolin Bookstore, and used as the rehearsal script for the Harbin Federation of Teachers. The performance was a huge local hit. The language I used was not pure then, with many Kyowa-go expressions (this refers to Japanese vocabulary adopted by the Chinese language and the mixed language based on Japanese grammar during the regime of Japanese-ruled Manchuria as part of Japan's enslavement education of people in Northeast China at that time) that had ruined the Chinese language. Despite the use of local dialects in Northeast China and Kyowa-go, our performance created quite a sensation in Harbin." [Photo by Chen Boyuan/China.org.cn]
