The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority conducted an acceptance test for the principal sections of the new bridge on Feb 6, which was expected to be finished by 6 p.m., according to chief engineer Su Quanke.

Once finished, the main bridge will be ready for operation and departments, such as highways, customs, immigration and traffic police, could start moving in.

Zhu Yongling, director of the HZMB Authority, told China Daily that the world's longest sea span bridge will start operation in the first half of this year.
