Editor's Note: The El Moro ("The Moor" in English) franchise is a Mexico City icon. It consists of a series of small restaurants scattered throughout the city, which sell Mexico's most famous dessert: Churros. A churro is a deep-fried stick of dough covered in cinnamon and sugar, and, judging by the crowds of people that fill any given El Moro during the evening, the franchise has mastered the art of this Mexican classic. The first El Moro opened in Mexico City in 1935.
