The Stone Forest, or Shilin Karst formation, is a group of limestone formations located in Shilin Yi autonomous county, Yunnan province. With impressive towering rock pillars found in high concentration, this unique landscape is the most famous of the larger South China Karst series, which was inscripted on the UNESCO World Heritage List in June, 2007.
