A view of the Mulan Weichang Visitor Center that Chinese-American actor Daniel Wu helped to design in Hebei Province. Wu and architect Zhang Hai'ao are listed as the chief designers for the building, in a collaboration with Shanghai architecture firm HDD. The center, inspired by the traditional Mongolian yurt, is an enormous library with a skylight that allows star-gazing at night and six residential rooms. It also earned a nod from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the equivalent of the British "Oscars" in the architecture industry. (Photo provided to China News Service)
