A team led by Xing Lida, a paleontologist with China University of Geosciences (Beijing), has found 250 dinosaur footprints of various sizes in stone slabs in Mountain Resort and its Outlying Temples in Chengde City, Hebei Province. The Mountain Resort (the Qing Dynasty's summer palace), built between 1703 and 1792, is a vast complex of palaces and administrative and ceremonial buildings. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994. The stone slabs, used for construction from 1987 to 1990, were mainly from Yanshan Mountains, where dinosaurs lived approximately 150 million years ago. (Photo: China News Service/Wang Bo)
