Editor's Note: Straddling the Pacific Ocean and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Olympic National Park is a 3,734 square-kilometer piece of land that sits on Washington State's Olympia Peninsula. The area actually comprises many small parks, among them the Hoh Rain Forest and Hurricane Ridge. Hikes and walks in the park range in difficulty from half-hour long natural trails to the scaling of 2,432-meter-high Mount Olympus.
