10th int'l hiking event held in Pinggu

The 10th international hiking event was held in Beijing's Pinggu district on October 20, which gathered nearly 5,000 people from over ten countries including China, Russia, Britain, South Korea and Mexico. The non-competitive event took place in the Beizhai village of Pinggu, which boasts a hiking trail built in 2009 and certificated by the Internationaler Volkssport Verband, a Germany-headquartered federation aiming to organize a sport that everyone could participate in, without classification and obligatory times.
