Captive pandas rise to 548 globally

The number of captive pandas had reached 548 globally as of November this year, said China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration Thursday. A total of 48 pandas were born, and 45 survived this year in China, a survival rate of 93.75 percent, according to data released by the administration at the on-going International Conference for the Giant Panda Conservation and Breeding held in Chengdu.
