A number of Chinese cities marked International Women's Day on March 8 by giving workers the chance to dress up for the day.

Fifteen female sanitation workers, who usually dress in orange uniforms to clean the streets, were invited to dress in wedding gowns in Zhengzhou city, capital of Central China's Henan province.

Geng Shujie, chairman of the city's Women's Federation, said it's a gift for the women who rarely have the opportunity to dress like that.

South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region recognized the day similarly, with female migrant construction workers dressing in ethnic costume for the day.
