Chen Dongming, a 52-year-old wood-block painter from Wafang village of Huanren county in Benxi, learned the techniques from his grandfather since young. As an inheritor of Huanren wood-block painting, a provincial intangible cultural heritage in Liaoning, Chen has been committed to making a proper integration of traditional Chinese landscape paintings and wood-block New Year paintings to promote the craft in an innovative way.
