Editor's note: On Wednesday, the Taiko Science Fiction Academy of Jinzhong College of Information (JCI) was launched in Jinzhong city of China's Shanxi province to encourage the combination of history and science fiction. More than 40 renowned Chinese sci-fi practitioners, including the sci-fi mogul and Hugo Award-winner Liu Cixin, as well as over 600 JCI faculty members and students, attended the founding ceremony. An exhibition featuring sci-fi scripts, posters and peripheral products was also held on the same day, alongside book signings, to celebrate the establishment of the academy.
