Chen Xin teaches sign language during a training course for community volunteers in Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province, May 9, 2022.

Chen Xin, a student of Nanjing Polytechnic Institute, also a certified sign language interpreter, established a workshop offering voluntary service for hearing-impaired people in September 2020. So far the workshop has organized over 80 sign language training courses and more than 100 voluntary events with an aggregate service time exceeding 1,000 hours.

During COVID-19 pandemic, Chen has made a series of sign language videos to promote tips on COVID-19 prevention and control for hearing-impaired people. (Xinhua/Li Bo)
