Dredging, sand removal work carried out in Dandong, China's Liaoning

Staff members of the power supply service command center of State Grid Dandong Power Supply Company work during an inspection in Zhenxing District of Dandong, northeast China's Liaoning Province, Aug. 1, 2024. As the water level of the Yalu River gradually dropped in Dandong, dredging and sand removal work has been carried out orderly in urban areas along the river. Shops are ready to resume business, and roads along the river have been restored to traffic. Since July, Dandong has experienced seven episodes of heavy rain, accumulating a total of 486.5 millimeters of rainfall, 90 percent more than the historical average for this period over many years.
