People in Britain on Monday celebrated the three-year countdown to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Organizing committee chairman Sebastian Coe, Olympic Delivery Authority chair John Armitt, Olympics Minister Rt Hon Tessa Jowell MP and Mayor of London Boris Johnson paid a special visit to the Olympic Park.
"In exactly three years, London and the whole of the UK will be getting ready to stage the greatest event on earth and we will not disappoint," Coe said.
Some Athletes, including new world diving champion Tom Daley, also visited the Park. They traveled to the Park on what would become the 'Javelin' train service between St Pancras International and Stratford International.
The 140-mile-per-hour train is a core part of London's Olympic transportation plans. In 2012, the train would bring up to 25,000 visitors per hour to and from the Olympic Park.
"The athletes who are visiting the Park today will get a small glimpse of the sporting stage that they – and we - have spent the last few years working towards. There is a tangible sense of excitement building and a genuine sense of belief that the Games in 2012 will not only be a source of intense national pride, but that the benefits will be felt for generations to come." Coe added.
