Mountain climbing competition concludes in Wuhan

A mountain climbing competition concluded Sunday in central Chinese city Wuhan, attracting six Olympic torch bearers and nearly 3,000 climbers from home and abroad.

Eighteen teams from Wuhan, 16 teams from other parts of China and 15 climbers from the Japanese Mountaineering Association climbed the Mulan Mountain, a famous scenic spot with 1,500 cultural and religious history.

The six mountaineers who carried the 2008 Beijing Olymipic torch to the the Mount Qomolangma last year, including Ji Ji, Huang Chungui, and Li Fuqing, also joined in the masses to climb the mountain.

The annual climbing event was launched in 2002.
