Fluminense playmaker Deco was sidelined for sustaining thigh injury, which will keep him out of action indefinitely in the Brazilian league.
The former Chelsea and Portugal midfielder hurt his right thigh in the first half of Fluminense's 1-0 loss to Cruzeiro on Sunday.
Fluminense said the new injury will keep Deco out of the team's match against rival Botafogo on Sunday, but did not give a timetable for his return.
The playmaker was one of Fluminense's top signings after the World Cup. Fluminense trails Cruzeiro by two points with nine rounds to go in the Brazilian league.
