In the biggest match of the tournament so far, Ronnie O'Sullivan was beaten by up-and-coming youngster Judd Trump in tyhe quarter-finals of The Masters in London on Thursday.

Twenty-two-year-old Trump advanced into the semi-finals after a stunning 6-2 win against the three-time world champion.

Trump lead 4-0 by the mid-session interval scoring a then tournament high-break of 140 in the fourth frame. But O'Sullivan rallied after the interval and took two of the next three frames bagging a tournament-high break of 141 in the sixth frame. Before Trump took the two remainders to see out the win.

Elsewhere in the quarters, world number one John Higgins came out on top in the all-Scottish match with Graeme Dott, each former world champions. Higgins advanced with a 6-3 win, and will now play the winner of Friday's Selby/Murphy match.
