Internacional's star striker Leandro Damiao has officially caught the attention of European clubs. On Saturday the Brazilian club recognized Italy's AC Milan was interested in the striker.
AC Milan is allegedly prepared to offer Internacional an estimated 115 million U.S. dollars. The Italian club is in need of a striker due to the constant injuries suffered by current striker Alexandre Pato.
Milan will look to act quickly and sign the striker before the window for international transfers closes towards the end of March. However, Milan's rival Juventus has also openly demonstrated its interest in the athlete.
Scouts and members of the Milan coaching staff recently traveled to Sweden in order to observe Damiao during Brazil's friendly match against Bosnia on February 28 and reported that the athlete will have no problem adjusting to the European style due to his quickness and natural ability.
Also on Saturday, Internacional beat Ypiranga-RS 2-1 in the opener of the second half of the Rio Grande do Sul state championship. Damiao scored one goal while Oscar scored the other in the win.
