Russian Football Union (RFS) has disqualified for life a Chechen referee and banned him from any activity related to soccer.
"(Musa) Kadyrov has been banned for life from participation in the soccer games and fined him for 500,000 rubles (over 16,000 U.S. dollars)," head of the RFS control commission Artur Grigoriants told reporters on Tuesday.
He added that RFS has barred Kadyrov from participation in soccer life in any capacity.
On Sunday in the capital of Chechen republic Grozny, after the game between local Terek and Amkar Perm, Kadyrov knocked down a guests' player and went on kicking him by feet. The brief scuffle between the players of the competing teams followed the incident on the field.
The 32-year-old referee blamed his emotional burst to the 18-year-old player's behavior during the game, who allegedly sweared aloud and insulted him and his parents.
The player, who has been also disqualified for four games and fined for equivalent of 480 dollars, denied these allegations.
