Safet Susic, coach of national soccer team of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), remained cautious after his team won an convincing 5-0 game against Latvia in a World Cup qualifier last week.
During an interview with Xinhua News Agency on Tuesday, Susci noted that BiH "needs to gain 9 points in the remaining four matches" to qualify for the 2014 World Cup final. He would not speculate.
BiH now tops Group G after six matches, including five impressive wins and one tie, with just one goal conceded. Many fans are preparing for big celebrations.
Talking about the match in Latvia, Susic mentioned the importance for a player to be physically fit and strong, adding that a player can only play his best with good physical agility.
During the match against Latvia, Susic recalled, he demanded his player to fight with full strength although Latvia was not regarded as a very strong opponent.
He took the example of Bayern Munich, which won the EUFA Championship League in May, as an example to highlight the importance of physical strength for players.
BiH planned to play a friendly match against Oman but it was cancelled. Susic explained it would not cause any problem for his team. He had planned to send players, who did not play in Latvia, to play in the match, Susic added.
BiH will face the United States in Sarajevo in August to prepare for the remaining World Cup qualifiers.
Susic, who played in French soccer giant PSG in 1980s and was voted in 2010 as the best ever player of the club, became coach of national soccer team of BiH in late 2009. Endi
