Zhang breaks national record of indoor high jump

Shandong athlete Zhang Guowei finished first in high jump at the 2014 National Indoor Athletics Championships with a record-breaking 2.33 meters, improving his own mark by one centimeter.

Zhang's teammate Bi Xiaoliang took second in 2.20 meters, while Shanxi athletes Yu Shisuo and Qiao Yuefeng finished joint second with 2.15 meters.

The world record of indoor high jump is 2.43 meters established by Cuban Javier Sotomayor in 1989.
