Moroccan 1500-meter runner Mariem Alaoui Selsouli has been officially suspended for eight years following a positive doping control at a meeting in Paris on July 6, 2012, according to the Moroccan Athletics Federation.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed on April 14, 2014 the decision of the Moroccan Athletics Federation to suspend Selsouli from taking part in any athletic competition for a period of eight years, said the federation in a release.

Selsouli, 30, who won a silver at the 2012 World Indoor Championships, tested positive for a banned diuretic in a sample taken in Paris on July 6, 2012. On July 23, 2012 she was banned from the Summer Olympics in London.

At the 2009 World Athletics Final in Berlin, Selsouli withdrew from the 1500m final after failing a drug test for EPO. She was suspended for two years by the IAAF, from August 22, 2009 to August 21, 2011.
