Defending champion Miami Heat came from behind to beat the Indiana Pacers 87-83 to level overall score at 1-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday.
LeBron James earned 12 of his total 22 points in the fourth quarter, along with seven rebounds and six assists for the Heat who suffered a 107-96 loss in Sunday's game one of the best-of-seven series.
Dwayne Wade made a team-high 23 points on 10-16 shooting. Norris Cole contributed 11 points off the bench.
The two teams tied at 8-8 when Pacers produced a 10-2 spurt. The Heat caught up after the timeout, delivering a 10-5 run to cut the Pacers' lead to one point by the end of the first period.
The Pacers began the second quarter with a couple of three pointers from Rasual Butler, but the Heat managed to level the game 27-27. The game went on until 33-33, and the Heat finished an 8-0 run. The Pacers got back on track with Lance Stephenson's buzzer-beater shot, trailing 41-37 into the halftime break.
The Pacer came back with a 9-0 run in the third quarter before the Heat made two consecutive three pointers to cut the gap to one point at the end of the third period.
The Heat was once down by 75-72 in the final quarter, but James led the team to a 10-0 run to get back the advantage. The Pacers had a chance to narrow the gap in the last 8.2 seconds, but Heat's defense was too strong for the Pacers to make the final shot.
Stephenson had a game-best 25 points for the Pacers. Roy Hibbert finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Paul George and George Hill had 14 and 13 points respectively.
The Heat would host Game 3 on Saturday.
