Xie Wenjun made it a Shanghai-Beijing double in the 110m hurdles.

Chinese 110m hurdler Xie Wenjun claimed his second victory in less than a week, finishing first with a time of 13.31 seconds in Beijing's IAAF World Challenge meeting on Wednesday after he won his first Diamond League race in Shanghai.

"Today's result is not as good as I expected. As you all know, I just finished the race in Shanghai and came here in a hurry, I think, the fatigue affected me," said Xie.

With Olympic champion Liu Xiang still battling to recover from his foot injury, Xie is widely considered the next hope of Chinese athletics.

"I hope to keep improving my skills so that I can compete with the top athletes in the bigger stage," added Xie, who reached the semi-finals of the 110m hurdles in the London Olympic Games in 2012.

US athletes Ryan Wilson and Kevin Craddock finished second and third, while last year's winner and current world champion David Oliver withdrew with an injury.
