Welsh hurdler Rhys Williams has been suspended at the ongoing 20th Commonwealth Games after failing a drug test.

The 30-year-old Williams, who on the 400 meters European champion in 2012, became the second Welsh athlete out of the Gams for doping following Gareth Warburton, who has also been suspended.

Williams took a bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi four years ago.

Team Wales said that Williams's test was conducted at the Glasgow Grand Prix on July 11.

It said in a statement: "The athlete has the opportunity to respond to the charges against him, and to have those charges determined at a full hearing before the National Anti-Doping Panel."
