Monday's International Champions Cup match between Manchester United and Manchester City has been cancelled due to poor weather in Beijing.

It's been announced tonight's planned match between Manchester United and Man City, set to be played at the Bird's Nest in Beijing, has been cancelled.

The poor condition of the pitch as a result of the recent rains in Beijing has prompted the decision.

Organizers say the two clubs jointly made the decision in order to guarantee player safety.

Fans who purchased tickets for tonight's match will be able to get a refund.

The aborted game was supposed to be the first Manchester derby held outside England.

It was to be the second of three games played as part of a tour of China by both Manchester clubs, as well as German side Dortmund.
