Shanghai's Jimmer Fredette, who led CBA's (Chinese Basketball Association) scoring, focused more on having fun in 2017 CBA All-star Weekend rather than a Most Valuable Player trophy here on Friday.

"I'm excited to be here. I'm grateful for the opportunity and fans for voting me in. I'm going to have as much fun as I can and do my best for the three-pointer competition. Hopefully it will be good," said the CBA's leading scorer, who averaged 38.4 points in last 25 rounds and helped the Shanghai team claim the top place with a 21-4 record.

Along with Fredette, his teammates Liu Xiaoyu and Guerschon Yabusele also join in the gala on Saturday and Sunday.

"We haven't really talked about it (the performance). We are excited to be here together. It's special to have three Shanghai players here. Hopefully we can have some alley-oops, long threes and have some fun," commented Fredette.

Rather than a MVP trophy in the All-star Game, Fredette would emphasize more on fun he can have competing with so many excellent players in CBA.

"No, I'm just going to have fun, go on and play, not worrying about the MVP or something like that. I just want to have fun, relax and enjoy with the rest of All-stars. We all deserve to be here," he added.

The Rising Stars Challenge will be held on Saturday, with qualifications for three-pointer shooting contest, skills challenge and slam dunk contest. The finals of three contests will be at halftime of the All-star Game on Sunday.
