Two-time champions Guangzhou Evergrande moved back to the summit of Group G of the 2017 AFC Champions League on Tuesday as Luiz Felipe Scolari's side cruised to a 6-0 win over Hong Kong champions Eastern SC.

First half goals from Paulinho and Ricardo Goulart put the 2013 and 2015 winners in control in tricky conditions, before Alan added a brace in the 50th and 71st minutes and Paulinho claimed his second of the night eight minutes from time to guarantee all three points for the Chinese Super League side. Yu Hanchao scored with a 90th minute free-kick to put the seal on the win for Guangzhou.

With Matchday Six still to come, table-topping Guangzhou now sit on nine points from their five games so far, one more than Suwon Samsung Bluewings and a further point ahead of Kawasaki Frontale, while Eastern are eliminated with just one point secured.

In Group H, South Korea‘s Jeju United went second with a 2-1 win over Jiangsu Suning in Nanjing. The hosts had already qualified with four wins from the first four games.

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires scored for the hosts.

Adelaide United moved into third place in the group after a 3-3 draw Gamba Osaka.

Baba Diawara‘s flicked header in the 91st minute completed Adelaide‘s second fightback of the night after it had recovered from falling 0-2 behind in the first 12 minutes.

It leaves Adelaide two points off the qualification spots heading into the final round of group games, where it faces a must-win clash against Jiangsu.
