Nine-time NBA all-star Chris Paul is headed to the Houston Rockets.

The Los Angeles Clippers have traded nine times All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets.

The Rockets will send Sam Dekker, Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, DeAndre Liggins, Darrun Hilliard, Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Wiltjer, a top-three protected 2018 first-round pick and $661,000 to the Clippers in exchange for Paul.

Paul said on Twitter that he was going through an "unbelievable amount of emotions right now."

Had Paul opted out of his contract, he could've signed a new deal that started at $34 million a year. Paul will now be eligible to sign a five-year, $205 million maximum extension with the Rockets.

Paul, 32, has won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, two Olympic gold medals, and led the NBA in assists four times and steals six times. He has also been selected to nine NBA All-Star teams, eight All-NBA teams, and nine All-Defensive teams. He's averaged 18.7 points, 9.8 assists and 2.4 steals over the six seasons in the Clippers.
