Fifty overseas Chinese media representatives were invited to visit the construction sites of venues for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Chongli District of Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province on September 8.

The overseas Chinese media representatives, from 24 countries, jointly signed the "proposal on promoting 2022 Olympic Winter Games," aiming at publicizing and reporting 2022 Olympic Winter Games abroad.

According to an official from the organizing committee of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Zhangjiakou Zone - with its favorable temperatures, average freeze periods and snow depths, as well as wind speeds - was selected as the ideal location for the snow sports competitions. The biathlon and all the skiing events, except for Alpine skiing, will be hosted in the Zhangjiakou zone.

As for the main competition venues, the Nordic Centre and Biathlon Centre will be built from 2017 to 2020, mainly for ski jumping, cross country skiing, and nordic combined. Genting Snow Park A and B, used for freestyle skiing and snowboarding, will be constructed on the basis of existing ski trails and plan to be put into use in December 12, 2018.

In addition, related infrastructure is also under construction, such as the Chongli railway and highway from Wanlong to Zhuanzhilian. All the venues, linked by high-standard roads and convenient public transport, will be 5 to 15 minutes away from the Olympic Villages.

Yang Lianhua, CEO of AACNTV, said "Every time I go to Beijing, I am surprised at its rapid development and amazing changes. As for our overseas Chinese, we are proud of our powerful motherland. So I decided to visit the construction of venues for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and hope to promote the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in our AACNTV."
