The No. 1 snooker player in China Ding Junhui beat the Champion of China Championship Luca Brecel 6-4 in the semifinals at the 2017 Snooker World Open held in Yushan County of China's Jiangxi Province.

Home favorite Ding started the match 3-1 at the beginning. After the interval, Brecel and Ding each won two consecutive frames. Brecel finished the ninth frame with 71:21. Ding chose to end the match with a 64-14 victory in the tenth frame.

"I felt good and was waiting for good chance in the match today," commented Ding after the match, "I will concentrate more in the final and play with an easy attitude."

In an earlier semifinal match with Kyren Wilson, Mark Allen had a 103-point break in the fourth frame. Wilson shared ten frames with Allen before he finished the match 70-42 in the eleventh frame.

"Mark is such a good player, every point was hard to get," said Wilson, "I felt I would lose the game at one moment, but I got a chance luckily."

Ding will face Shanghai Master champion of 2015 in the finals.

The week-long competition offers a total prize of 700,000 pounds with the champion pocketing 150,000.
