Snowboarder Liu Jiayu wins first medal for Team China at PyeongChang Winter Olympics

Chinese snowboarder Liu Jiayu bagged a silver medal in the women's snowboard halfpipe at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics on Tuesday, winning the first medal of the Chinese team at the mega-sporting event.

Throwing just enough tricks to qualify for the medal, Liu Jiayu lived up to expectations and won the medal with 89.75 points.


US player Chloe Kim, 17, took the gold with 98.25 points and Arielle Gold also from Team USA won the bronze with 85.75 points.
