Record-man Bale sinks China

Gareth Bale struck a hat-trick as Wales defeated China PR 6-0 in the China Cup International Football Championship at the Guangxi Sports Centre Stadium on Thursday.


Real Madrid star Bale achieved a personal milestone as the hat-trick made him Wales' all time top scorer with 29 goals.


Real Madrid star Bale was in scintillating form, giving Wales the lead just three minutes into the match as he scored from 30 yards out.


Wales, with manager Ryan Giggs making his debut, were 2-0 up in the 21st minute with Bale again the scorer as he capitalised on poor defending by China, who are preparing for the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, to slot home.


Bale was involved in the third goal as Sam Vokes scored in the 38th minute who guided the ball in after evading his marker.


There was to be a fourth with Bale the provider as he steered the ball onto the path of Harry Wilson, who made no mistake with his effort.


Vokes made it 5-0 in the 58th minute with his second of the night, sliding the ball past the China goalkeeper.


Five minutes later, Bale completed his hat-trick as he timed his run to perfection to latch on to a long ball and slot home.
