With a last-gasp goal, defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande beat Jiangsu Suning 1-0 at home on Saturday in the eighth round of the Chinese Super League.

Yu Hanchao broke the deadlock with his header in the injury time to help Guangzhou seal the victory, ending Jiangsu's four-game unbeaten run and moving up to the second place temporarily.

Tianjin Quanjian were defeated by Hebei China Fortune 3-0 at home.

Former Paris Saint-Germain player Ezequiel Lavezzi netted the first in the 57th minute for the visitors after receiving a delicate pass from Zhang Chengdong and Jin Yangyang extended the lead to two goals six minutes later.

In the 77th minute, Lavezzi scored the third to seal the victory and help the visitors reach the seventh place on the table.

In other action of the day, Benjamin Moukandjo scored his first goal of the season to help Beijing Renhe edge off Tianjin Teda 1-0.
